Contra has been an independent digital agency for almost 20 years. In that time we’ve racked up a fair share of awards, but this August we added even more bling to the cabinet for creating outstanding digital experiences in the education sector. 

Digital Impact Awards – corporate digital communications awards

In early August we were shortlisted twice for Best use of digital from the education sector at the Digital Impact Awards. The Digital Impact Awards sets the industry-wide benchmark in digital engagement and honours the best corporate digital communications work in Europe. This year marks their decade of celebrating success in digital so we are honoured to be in with the chance of taking home Gold and Silver in the Education category. Winners will be announced in October. 

dotCOMM Awards – celebrating web creativity

As August was coming to a close, we received a call from dotCOMM Awards who explained our entries won 1st and 2nd place in the ‘Outstanding use of Digital in Education’ category. dotCOMM Awards is an international competition recognising excellence in web creativity and digital communication. The competition is unique in the sense it reflects the role of creatives in transforming how we market and communicate products and services.

Over the past 19 years, we have had the pleasure of working with many leading educational institutions across the country. We’ve launched websites, apps, campaigns and lots more for the likes of Oxbridge and UCL as well as many other leading institutions. We take great pride in everything that goes out of the door so to be consistently recognised for our work is a tribute to the creativity and intense planning that goes into every project.

Platinum winner: Alan Turing Institute

The Alan Turing Institute was created as the national institute for data science in 2015 and, as a result of a government recommendation, added artificial intelligence to their remit in 2017. The institute undertakes research which tackles some of the biggest challenges in science, society and the economy. Read more

Gold winner: Wolfson College, University of Cambridge

Wolfson combines the traditions of a Cambridge University College with a dynamic and outward-facing view. Within their stimulating learning and teaching environment, the students and academics aim high and accomplish much. Read more
