ADEPT appointed Contra to design and build their new website following a tender process. ADEPT wanted an interactive and informative resource to cater for several key audiences interested in African Diaspora development.
The aim was to create a innovative site, which sets them ahead of their competition. They wanted to improve the number of people becoming members and to target a more diverse groups. Beginning the project, it was imperative to carry out consultation so we could gain a clear understanding of how to meet the client’s objectives and vision.
Contra created a clear, contemporary site, which provides a variety of information and is an online destination for users to facilitate communication. We carefully thought about the design, to ensure all users can easily navigate around the site finding the information they need. To help encourage membership we ensured this was a clear and prominent call to action as soon as the user lands on the page as well as, signposting this throughout the site.
The site was built using WordPress, extremely adaptable and simple to use. Adopting core plugins and modules the site is tailored around ADEPT needs. With the ability to post jobs, which may be of interest to ADEPT members, search and filter for relevant resources and to find the network of ADDOs on a categorised map provides a system that targets ADEPTs many key audiences. The content management system also allows ADEPT to manage all aspects of the site with ease.
From launch the website has been publicised at large events and has developed its presence within the network. The site is also continuing to develop with French version becoming available too.
