Our web design results.
Our web design process.
Let's design a beautifully bespoke website for your users. Start now by requesting a free consultation with our London web design agency experts.
Step 1.
Research.
Website design projects don’t start with design, they start with research. From both our London web design agency office and through online meetings, we use a mix of workshops, interviews, surveys, desk research and user testing exercises to build out a strategy for the web design. To understand your organisation, we examine your brand, business goals and competitors. To ensure the new design is user-centric and focused on your goals, we conduct extensive stakeholder research, taking into account the views of your team and your end users.
Step 2.
Wireframes.
Wireframes are low-fidelity mockups of page layouts. We conduct wireframing to rapidly explore the page/screen structure and user journeys. As part of this, we explore page objectives, the position of call-to-actions, key information for persona types and messaging statements.
Step 3.
Treatments.
We’ll create several treatments for a couple of the most important screens, using your branding and the insights we've gathered. We’ll present these concepts to you and discuss them together. We’ll also share these with you via the browser-based design preview tool, Figma. You’ll be able to give feedback to us directly in this tool so we can make the requested changes. In the first round, you’ll identify the concept approach you prefer and then iterate on your chosen concept.
Step 4.
UX Testing.
We ensure our designs are beautiful to look at but also easy to use. We test our designs with real users before the build stage as it’s easier to change designs that re-code a website.
Step 5.
Design System.
A design system is a complete outline of the design language of a website or web app, including typography and UI components. We approach design and build systematically. Each screen/content type is designed and built from a series of reusable components from the design system. This ensures consistency, which helps with usability, and also increases the efficiency of the design and build phases.
Step 6.
Development.
Once we have our shiny new design, it is time to build the website. We can work with your internal development team or we can build the website. Find out more web development services.

Frequently asked questions
- Do I get a say in the design process?
100 percent yes. This is a collaborative process and we want to ensure you’re happy with the creative direction. Put simply, we do the heavy lifting while welcoming your input at each stage of the journey. Equally, our website experts are always here to advise on best practices, from optimising conversions to creating a beautifully designed interface.
- How do you handle revisions to the website design?
We typically offer two revisions. This encourages clear communication and focus at each revision, keeping the timeline on track.
- Will you provide a design style guide or branding guidelines for the website?
When building a website, we provide a design system, a comprehensive set of guidelines governing visual and functional aspects, ensuring consistency in typography, colours, UI elements, and more for efficient design and development. This differs from branding guidelines, which maintain the overall brand identity across all touchpoints. We typically request brand guidelines upfront, but if unavailable, we can create them before proceeding with web design and the design system.
- How much does a web design cost?
The cost of web design can vary widely based on the project's complexity and requirements. Simpler websites with basic features typically fall within the £500 to £5,000 range. For more personalised designs, where customisation and unique functionality are key, prices usually land between £5,000 and £15,000. Fully integrated projects, which include advanced tools, rigorous testing, and full compliance, often start at £25,000 and can go up to £100,000. For organisations with extensive needs, such as multinational businesses or large-scale platforms, budgets may exceed £250,000.
