What we did.

Stakeholder research

We conducted stakeholder interviews with various departments as well as representatives from the student body. This enabled us to establish who the website users are, their goals, and the challenges they face when accessing the existing website.

User personas

Corpus Christi is a complex organisation with many different stakeholders and a variety of audiences, all of whom have varying interests in the website. With that in mind, we created several user personas, helping us to establish common themes and characteristics. These personas then played a role in our approach to the website, ensuring we tackled the challenges faced by the majority of visitors.

Virtual open day approach

Current and prospective students account for a lot of the college’s regular website users. From our research, we found many of them felt it didn’t accurately reflect the excitement and sense of community that comes with attending Corpus Christi. We addressed this by treating the website like a virtual open day, utilising bold images, videography, and a friendly tone of voice, while being careful not to lose touch with the college’s history and prestige.

Enhanced site structure

With several different audiences using the website, we wanted to ensure they could all easily access the information they require. We created a new site structure and wireframes to establish the page layout. This incorporated clear links and calls to action, pointing users in the direction of content they’re likely to find most useful.

Responsive web design

The existing website wasn’t mobile-first which made it difficult to both use and maintain. We implemented responsive web design, ensuring elements automatically adjusted to fit the size of the screen, allowing the user to easily access and view the content in the same way they would on a desktop.
